Relax, be creative, and make new friends!


Trish has over thirty years of experience teaching art to students of all ages.  She teaches a wide variety of classes in many different media. Classes generally run from two to three hours at a cost of $28 to $48 depending on time and materials involved.  Materials are included in the class fee unless noted.  Class offerings for the month are listed below or you may schedule a class at your convenience as long as there are at least two participants. Laughing Heart Studio can comfortably accommodate up to four people. Private lessons and home parties are also available.

Class offerings



Use a variety of materials to create a simple project such as a garden stone, cigar box or picture frame. Adhesives, tools and techniques will be discussed as well as finishing techniques.


Alcohol Inks

Spontaneous and colorful results can be achieved by applying alcohol inks to tile. No artistic skills are needed! Make 4 tiles to use as coasters or wall decoration. Consider hosting an in-home party!


Yard Art

Make whimsical art for your garden from recycled glass, plates, bowls, metal and more. This technique can be used to make garden flowers, towers or bird baths. Easy to assemble, you choose the project you will make. 


Life Masks

 Have your face cast and use the casting as a mold to create a paper mask.  



Gentle "how to" guidance provided through simple exercises designed to boost your confidence and improve your drawing skills. Play with a variety of drawing materials including pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, markers and pastels to discover the medium you like the best.


Printmaking/Gelli Printing

You can make a print with anything from a potato to your own hand carved designs. Prints can be used for cards, book covers, collage and/or other pieces of art. 



Cut and paste to create an art piece from your photos, magazines, calendars, wrapping paper, stickers, gemstones and more. Collage can be used to create a "vision board" or "soul collage" cards. These classes are also offered through Laughing Heart Studio.  



Similar to the art of collage but three-dimensional using a combination of found objects for construction. 


Beginning Watercolor

Learn some basic watercolor techniques including wet and dry brush, resist, salt pour and spatter. 

February / March class offerings

A class for beginners wanting to experience the “magic" of watercolor. Students will learn about materials and techniques by painting a series of miniatures. We will experiment with wet and dry brush, resist, salt pour, spatter and more.

Gentle "how to" guidance provided through simple exercises designed to boost your confidence and improve your drawing skills. We will use a variety of drawing materials including pencil, pen and ink and charcoal. Topics include line, shape, value, texture and form. Material list provided with enrollment.

Monday evenings March 2, 9, 16, 23

6:30-8:00 pm

cost: $58 resident/ $72.25 non-resident


Spontaneous and colorful results can be achieved by applying alcohol ink to ceramic tile. Absolutely no art experience is needed! Be prepared to let go of your need to control and enjoy the ride! We will make four 4x4 tiles which can be used for coasters or wall decor. Finishing techniques discussed.

cost: $28 plus $5 material fee


Designed for those who have had previous experience working with alcohol inks or take an introductory class. We will be using brushes, q-tips and permanent markers for greater control of the medium. We will complete three - 6x6 tiles to create a landscape, a floral design and a pet portrait. $8 materials fee payable to the Instructor at the beginning of class.

A simple, creative and fun class that has the potential to deepen your understanding of self. During this intuitive process participants browse magazines for images that inspire or have a personal meaning. Images are cut, combined and pasted together to create several miniature collage cards. You are encouraged to bring small personal photos to incorporate into your design, along with a glue stick and scissors. Sharing artwork at the end of class is always enlightning.
